1957

Mafo was established in Oldenzaal, the Netherlands, as a manufacturing company. First products were, for one, spots of teapots, garage doors for houses and watertight doors for merchant naval ships.

1968

Built first crate washing machine.

1968

Developed and delivered the first door for Naval ships.

1974

Built first telescopic hangar door.

1979

Built foldable helicopter hangar for the Indonesian Navy.

1983

Mafo is taken over by Howden Pix and is now called Mafo Howden.

1984

Delivered newly developed door with lateral sliding mechanism to the German Navy.

1986

Delivered loading installations for Sea Sparrow anti-aircraft missiles.

1992

Delivered first folding crate washing machine.

1988

Turnover washing machines exceeds the turnover Naval products for the first time.

1991

Delivered first degreasing installation.

1996

Delivered testing doors to the American Navy.

1997

Mafo Howden taken over by holding company Holtkamp and is now called Mafo Holtkamp. Mafo moved to Almelo, the Netherlands.

1999

After successful qualification, first assignment for doors for the American Navy.

2000

Development and qualification of a nearly maintenance-free watertight door.

2001

Assignment for about 1500 doors for the American Arleigh Burke class Destroyers.

2007

Delivered largest hangar door ever. The door has a daylight size of 13600 x 5900 mm.

2007

Developed new and revolutionary concept for bakery machines.

2008

Holding company Holtkamp undergoes change of name and becomes Mafo Holding BV, in which two operating companies are active: Mafo Naval Closures BV, Mafo Food and Cleaning Equipment BV.

2009

Mafo builts the first washing machine for wheelchairs.

2011

Mafo Food en Cleaning Equipment B.V repels the bakery machines and undergoes a change of name and becomes Mafo Cleaning Equipment B.V.
